Day 3 and 4

Yesterday we made posters regarding the fourteenth amendment of the Constitution. It created rights for African Americans after the civil war. Today we took notes out of the book about certain plans to rebuild the United States after the civil war. Then we colored a map according to which general would be in charge over the state.

Day 2

I was not here Friday so I don't know what we did. Today we went to the library and we did a few worksheets regarding the outcome of the civil war in southern states. I got North Carolina and they got crushed by the civil war.

Winnie the Poo

The past two days in class we have been looking over documents that were written towards the end of the Civil War. These documents included letters and or speaches written by U.S. Grant, Charles Sumner, Jefferson Davis and Abraham Lincoln. Also, last week we talked about which Winnie the Poo character each person in the class was. I think that I am like the Christopher Robin of our class. Winnie the Poo ( Mike ) and I have a deeper and more special friendship than the I have with the other kids in the class. I still have a good friendship with the other characters of our class but none of them would be able to replace the one I have with Winnie. Christopher Robin and I are similar because we are loyal, imaginative, supportive, funny, and caring.

Day 5 and 6

On Friday we watched a scene of a movie depicting what happened on the final day of Gettysburg. We saw that the Union won by stopping the Confederate assault. Today we talked about the Emancipation Proclamation. January 1, 2013 was important because it was the 150 year anniversary of when it was put into place.
